Alfred, NY, Growing Up, Sad

Carrie

Do you want me to tell my story now? Well, 2001 which is before eight grade we moved to New York from Pennsylvania.  We moved in August? the beginning of August? So we were driving down to do a final visit before school started and we were driving down a busy road a main drag called  Niagra Falls Blvd. and I realized I needed batteries for my CD player because I still used like a portable CD player and we’re driving down the road and I was like, “Dad, I need batteries” and he was like “Oh, we can’t stop” and I was like, “Dad! I need batteries or I’m gonna die!” and so he’s like okay when we pass a battery store I’ll stop and we’ll get batteries and I was like okay dad cause he was being a jerk because he knew there was no battery store.  And then low and behold we get to midway through the boulevard and there’s a place called “The Battery Store” and I say we have to stop and go to the battery store but he does not stop cause he’s a jerkface and we keep going and I don’t have any batteries and I’m really sad.  And that’s the end of my story.  I always wanted to send that story to Reader’s Digest but I never did.  It’s the kind of cheesey story that Reader’s Digest always has in it because they have little short stories, things about life, and they give you a hundred dollars if they put it in the magazine.
